Scarf Weather is Here!

Scarf weather is here!!!
I couldn't be happier.

For those of you who know me well, you know that scarves are my go to accessory. They are my favorite! Here is a few reasons I love them the way I do:

1. They can change the look of any outfit in an INSTANT.
2. They are super comfy & cozy
3. Scarf + good ole' cup of joe = amazingness
4. They dress up/add color to the plainest outfits.

With this being said, I was overjoyed when I walked outside this morning and realized the dream i was having yesterday of beautiful weather did not end when i went to sleep...It still felt amazing this morning! "
FALL IS HERE, FALL IS HERE, FALL IS HERE," I shouted!
Not to my surprise, the first thing my eye was drawn to in my closet this morning was my new scarf I bought from the Purple Cow last month.

Today, my outfit was on the casual side of things, but I paired it up with an adorable scarf and some heels I recently bought, and VOILA, an outfit fit for teaching was made.
Off to the highschool I went!
My wonderful sister volunteered to take my pictures for the day after our class at LSU...
Talk about some awkward poses. I guess I am still getting used to this whole "outfit selfie" thing.

(hello, awkward pose.)

(wow, even more awkward.)

(Shoes....my other favorite accessory.)

Flowers & Fantastic Answers

Sundays are the best days of the week.
Why?
Church, of course!
Many of us college folk are in a rotation at our church to teach children's church to the kindergarten and 1st graders. While this is a challenge sometimes, it is such a blessing.
This morning, God completely showed me how the faith of a child is absolutely beautiful and something God wants us to have.
During worship, God completely showed me all that he has been to me and is to me today.
HE IS AMAZING.
After tears and wonderful songs of praise, all the kids ran to their classroom.
With the awesome thought of Jesus before me, class consisted of "Who Jesus is to us."
I pulled out a white board, expo marker, and the "talking stick."
To keep the chaos down, the only kid who currently holds the stick is able to talk.
Best idea ever.

"Who is Jesus to you?"
"He's healed me before when I was sick."
"Amen! So, he is your ____?"
"He is my healer," shouted a little girl with a smile on her face.
"That's right! And that's only one of the things he is!"

The next 15 minutes consisted of the kids passing around the talking stick, telling us who Jesus was to them and what He meant to them. Keep in mind these kids are all around 6.
Here are some of the beautiful answers they gave:

-He protects us
-Provider
-Saved me from sin
-Died on the cross & rose again
-He gave me church
-He gave me the Bible
-He gave me a wonderful family
-Holy Spirit
-Gave me a home
-He is LOVE

I was so blessed by the hearts of these kids this morning. Jesus is ALL of these things and so much more than anything this world could ever offer us.
He is truly amazing.
To end the morning, Felix and I were on our way back to our house when we stopped to pick some BEAUTIFUL flowers we saw on the side of the road.

This day has already consisted of an amazing time in Jesus' presence and has been filled with so many little blessings. Today, I'm thankful for flowers, friends, faith of the children, and most of all...Jesus.

Little Pink Dress

Everyone has a dress in their closet.

With this set before you, you have AT LEAST 6 outfits you can make.
Don't believe me?
My wonderful, old friend Becca posted about the various ways in which you can maximize your wardrobe a few days ago on her blog. With inspiration set before me, I bolted up to my room and automatically grabbed the little pink dress out of my closet.

Within minutes, I had 6 completely different outfits made!
IT WAS AWESOME.
That night, I sent a message with all of my outfits to Becca! She loved everything I came up with, so she allowed me to guest post on her blog!
Wanna see what outfits I came up with?
Check it out HERE.
Show the love to my friend & have a wonderful weekend!
What kind of outfits can you come up with?

Oh, How I Love the Weekends

Oh, how I love the weekends.

Thank goodness it's friday.
Four words that I didn't really appreciate until I became a college student. Up until my freshman year at LSU, the weekend was basically just like any other day for me.
I mean, come on people. I was homeschooled. It was awesome.
Everyday seemed like a weekend to me, other than a few hours of school here and there.
Not to mention, my mom was basically as cool as Ms. Frizzle was.
To say the least, weekends now are CHERISHED.
Although I work on Saturday mornings and do have homework, I quite enjoy being able to see my wonderful Fiance and spend some time with my friends.
I am thankful God made a day of rest, too.

Today marks my first "fun" blog post.
Even funnier part of this post?
the pictures.
I asked Felix to take some pictures of my casual "date night" outfit for me and he did a wonderful job. Little does he know that this was the start to him becoming my personal photographer. hehehe. I love him so much.
Tonight we are going on a family date night with his parents, then going home to end the night off with a Super Smash Brothers tournament with my brother and friends. This Friday night really couldn't be better.

Here is the outfit I threw together for our little outing this evening:

Safe to say, Felix did a fabulous job.
I love this outfit because it is basically a wonderful representation of my style...Casual mixed with a pop of "ooh-la-la" brought in with the wedges.
Being in college, saving for marriage, honeymoon, and future Europe trip, I'm on a budget. Bargain shopping is my obession when it comes to fashion, and I am proud to say that only 1 item I am wearing was over $10 dollars.

Outfit breakdown:
+ Pants: walmart- $10 +
+Top: Online shopping- $6 +
+Necklace: Online (just got it & am in LOVE...$3 +
+Wedges: consigment shop, AL- $25+
Total Cost of Outfit: $44

Have a fabulous Friday, everyone!
God bless!
